Vacancy.com

The lovely and generous folks at Vacancy.com are offering a scholarship if you can find a great apartment in a great city. Then of course, they want you to blog about it. So I jived around the site and found out they advertise some great apartments, and I can honestly say I had some trouble choosing one. I searched in some gorgeous cities such as Boca Raton, Florida and Denver, Colorado, but I ended up coming right back to searching in Norman/Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Why? One: I’m cheap, and according to Wikipedia, Boca Raton is known for its “affluent social community and high income demographic.” Boca also has some interesting Mafia history, but that’s beside the point. Anyway, despite my dreams and the sparkling, almost alluring pictures, I could not imagine myself living there. Second reason, Oklahoma, like myself, is cheap. In fact, it boasts one of the cheapest housing markets in America. Thirdly, my people are here, and I really do want to go to college here, too. So I found what I think is an amazing apartment in North Oklahoma City. It’s called Crosswinds Cove, which I found interesting as Oklahoma is a land-locked state. Nevertheless, the apartment seems perfect for me. It seems like a big community, but it has an intimate feel, too. The place has character, too, with 70’s style architecture’s signature stone/brick living in harmony around the front of the building in three long window shapes. The next picture shows a nice big courtyard with comfy benches (hello, reading spot) and looks like lots of room to play with some doggy friends, since the place is PET FRIENDLY!!! They have a little workout room which I might make use of from time to time, but more importantly, they have an amazing indoor pool in a lovely pool room with curvy walls. The apartments do not disappoint the simple in taste college-bound girl, either, with a quaint little kitchen that has a scalloped ceiling edge over the sink, and the all important dishwasher, which I would die without. There’s a huge bay window leading outside to a patio, and some spacious bedrooms for an apartment. Its saving grace would have to be the washing machine/dryer, though, and I’m being totally sarcastic, because this place doesn’t need any saving. I could definitely see myself living here with a roommate, and the price for all the amenities and such is worth it to me, because starting rent is only $369. There’s way too much to love, so I’ll end by saying thanks, Vacancy, for the opportunity! Just in case anyone is completely sold already, here’s the link:
